There are several interesting areas around the shore, especially from Cantick Head along the south coast to Aith Hope and the west side of Brims Ness.

Now owned largely by the Scottish Wildlife Trust and managed to preserve the maritime heath, the Hill of White Hamars is a blaze of colour in early summer. Primula scotica is one of the many plants to be seen in the maritime heath here.
