Polcraig Guest House nestles on the hillside, centrally in Lochinver village, overlooking the bay. Set amidst some of the finest scenery in the Highlands of Scotland; it is a paradise for anglers, climbers, walkers, bird watchers and photographers, or for anyone who loves the great outdoors or likes living close to nature, it is a splendid place to stay for a while and savour all that it has to offer.
A warm, friendly welcome awaits you here at Polcraig. Ideally situated in a quiet location with views across Lochinver Bay and Harbour. A short walk takes you to a choice of places for eating out. On arriving in Lochinver continue along the seafront, then turn right at the Tourist Information Centre. Polcraig Guest House is the large house on the hillside.

Lochinver Fishing or Angling services
Sea Anglers have been coming to Lochinver and Kylesku for many years to sample the offshore fishing round our coast which has been considered as some of the best available in Britain.
Wild Brown Trout Fishing can be arranged for anglers on any one or all of, over 300 hill lochs in our locality and about 30 boats are provided for hire. Some loch fishing for salmon and seatrout can also be organised for guests. Fishing permits at very affordable prices are obtainable from ourselves. All vendors sell day and weekly permits for all zones. Wild brown trout fishing available/arranged on over 300 hill lochs.
Your host Cathel MacLeod has a lifetime experience of Angling in the UK as well as deer stalking and hillwalking in the highlands. Polcraig Guest House also provides deep freeze facilities. Boat permits are available from The Cottage (South and West) at The Cottage Culag Square, Lochinver (01571 844076) GR093221 and Altnacealgach Inn (East) at (01854 666260) Ledmore GR266108. All Waters: £10 – maximum 3 persons, Engine Hire: £10/£6 per day (inc fuel). Salmon fishing on the Rivers Upper and Lower Inver and Kirkaig is owned by the Inver Lodge Hotel in Lochinver. The brown trout fishing in Assynt is controlled in the North by the Assynt Crofters’ Trust (the green area) and in most of the remaining areas (red) by the Assynt Angling Group.
