10K Corporate Challenge is ideal event for team players
The organisers of Baxter’s Loch Ness Marathon & Festival of running –taking place on Sunday, September 30 – are encouraging work colleagues around the country to train together over the summer months with a view to entering a team into the 10K Corporate Challenge.

Devised to promote health and fitness in the workplace, the 10K Corporate Challenge appeals to many runners’ spirited nature and has quickly become a popular element of the Baxter’s Festival of running.

The event is open to all sectors of business and industry in the public and private sector. Teams of four to six runners can enter and the times of the fastest four combine to make the team’s final score.

The route, which is flat and scenic, begins on the outskirts of the city and follows a rural route before heading into Inverness, winding through the streets of the historic Highland capital, passing beneath the castle and crossing the river Ness to the finish line.

The whole weekend has a real festival atmosphere as Inverness extends the welcoming hand of Highland hospitality to over 9,000 competitors. There’s live music, the Baxter’s Food and Drink Fayre, a charity and sports expo and lots of activities for the kids –so there’s plenty to entertain, energise and reward runners and supporters of all ages throughout the weekend.

If you prefer a team approach to sport, the 10K Corporate Challenge is the ideal race to enter.

While the closing date for guaranteed entries for the Loch Ness Marathon has passed, the closing date for charity and club runners into the marathon, and for entry into the Baxters river Ness 10K, 10K Corporate Challenge, Baxters river Ness 5K and Wee Nessie is September 10. So there’s still plenty of time to get training!
