Highland Blindcraft has been making high-quality mattresses and divans for many years so it is no wonder it’s the first choice for hotels and B&B owners.

Executive manager Denise Clark said: “We make a range of high-quality products, including memory foam, pocket spring and the traditional tight-sprung mattresses, to suit any establishment. We also offer a same day replacement for mattresses that have been damaged so local customers can get the room back in use as soon as possible.”
All Highland Blindcraft mattresses and divans are made to exacting specifications at its premises in Ardconnel Street, and meet the Crib 5 fire resistant rating.
The fact the company is local and does its own manufacturing is why some commercial customers choose Highland Blindcraft.
Denise said: “We had a recent enquiry from someone interested in dealing with us because we are less than 20 miles away and do all the manufacturing ourselves. They are applying for a green tourism award and the distance the product travels makes a big difference to their environmental policy. Other companies choose us because they want to support a local business which employs local people and invests in the local economy.”
Another draw for customers is that Highland Blindcraft is a registered charity, which employs visually impaired and disabled craftspeople in its factory. But the major draw is the product, which as Denise explains, has attracted orders from accommodation guests as well as owners.
“We often get phone calls from people who have slept on our mattresses while staying with one of our commercial customers and enjoyed it so much they buy one!”
