Bunkum is a small (36 bed) family run backpacker hostel offering extremely spacious and comfortable accommodation for travellers and backpackers in a 150 year old Victorian town-house in the vibrant West End of Glasgow.

The hostel facilities include a Common Room with TV, a large well appointed self-catering kitchen with cookers and microwave oven (tea and coffee is provided), a laundry room, public telephone, a small library including travel guides and local history books and (free) showers and (free) security lockers. There is also a limited number of free car parking spaces adjacent to the hostel. Unlike many hostels Bunkum has no night time curfew and no day time lockout.

The proximity of Glasgow University gives the area a cosmopolitan feel; its student population guarantees a tremendous variety of value food stops (where you can dine for as cheaply as £1). Cheaper still you can cook your own in Bunkum’s fully equipped, self-catering kitchen (for the exclusive use of guests) and wash it down with free tea and coffee.

Bunkum is a member of IBHS, Scotland’s biggest hostel organization, and one of only a handful of Scottish hostels to be awarded the prestigious “Let’s Go” guide ‘Thumbs-up’ award. As you visit ‘Bunkum’, you may find interest in following listings . . .
