Formerly a 19th Century coaching inn, this wonderful hotel retains it character and charm.
It is situated in the North Coast village of Mey and only a short distance from the Queen Mother’s Highland Home, the Castle of Mey.
The Hotel is set in 6 acres of open parkland – which has been planted with trees and landscaped throughout with walkways, this offers a unique facility as a dog-walk for guests. The Hotel is beside the main tourist route to Thurso and John O’Groats.
Something for Everyone
The area boast an abundance of sea birds and other wild-life, as well as wonderful sea-shore, beaches, coves and small harbours. Other attractions include Camster Cairns, Wick Heritage Centre, the Flagstone Trail, etc., see what the “What to see and do in the area” section.
For the more active there is sea and trout fishing, pony trekking and golf amongst other things.
The Royal Gallery This unique collection of photographs show the Queen Mother and the Royal family in a variety of scenes and settings. For anyone who loves the Royal Family this must not be missed. Mounted prints of most of the pictures are available for sale.
Accommodation We have eight letting bedrooms all en-suite. The Pentland Suite: this suite comprises a large family room with a second bedroom. Very suitable for large family groups that wish to stay together. The disabled bedroom has twin beds, one very large family room which will accommodate four and rooms for wheelchair accommodation. All of our rooms have televisions and tea/coffee making facilities.
The Castle Arms welcome everybody – and so we have accommodation specifically suited to wheelchair users. There is a ramp, a wheel in shower and other necessary items to make sure that your stay is as comfortable as possible.
Dining – The Garden Room Our dining room seats at least 32 people. For special functions it can be extended. On sunny days lunches are often served in the courtyard.

- Evening Meals – 6.30pm to 8.30pm
The Pentland Lounge
Our Caithness Flagstone fireplace provides a cosy, welcoming room to relax in, enjoy a wee dram or two and sample some of our fine Scottish Malt Whiskeys.
Morning coffees and afternoon teas are served in the lounge and a large selection of bar meals and snacks are also available for those requiring a less formal meal. We also keep a selection of games and books to keep the family entertained!

Local Shop Adjoined to the hotel is a local shop supplying videos as well as everything else you would expect!
