The Black Bull Hotel is situated in the lovely conservation village of Gartmore, in the Trossachs, just 2 miles from Aberfoyle. Dating from the early 1700’s, when it was used by cattle drovers and frequented by the legendary Rob Roy McGregor, the Black Bull is located amidst some of the most beautiful scenery in Scotland.
Combining the traditional village pub with a quality dining experience, a warm welcome and a relaxing and comfortable atmosphere is guaranteed at the Black Bull. Our rooms are available for bed and breakfast and also we have some special offers for short breaks with dinner bed and breakfast.
Recently refurbished, The Hotel is open every day for lunches, bar meals and evening meals. It’s also the ideal place for parties, meetings and functions of all sizes.
In addition to the main dining room we have a private room where we can cater for small groups of up to 16. We also have a function facility where we can comfortably accommodate up to 100 persons. The Black Bull Hotel was taken over by Liz and Andy Malcolm in May 2010. As long time residents of Aberfoyle Liz and Andy know the area well and strive to create a warm and friendly atmosphere coupled with good food and wine.
With a wealth of experience in local business, Liz and Andy also own Liz MacGregor’s Tearoom in the Main St Aberfoyle and also the Craigmore Guest House just a short distance away. With this experience Liz and Andy hope to create a great venue for a meal, a special function or just for a social drink but no matter the occassion, they look forward ro welcoming you to the Black Bull.
