The Grill Room at the Square

For a truly decadent dining experience you will be pressed to find a more salubrious setting than Glasgow’s Grill Room at The Square – a premium steakhouse within the exclusive 29 venue, right in the heart of the city.

With a menu focused on serving the very finest Scottish beef, you’ll find everything that accompanies your meal is tempered to match the succulent, tasty, high-quality produce on offer.

From fine wines and crisp white table napkins, to discreet but excellent service, and the glamorous surroundings with a glittering view across one of the main cultural and social hubs in Glasgow, The Grill Room offers a special dining experience whether you drop in for a satisfying steak, or you are having a special night out.

The 29 venue has been open since 2006 – encompassing The Grill Rooms, a private members’ club, various bars and function rooms – and award-winning head chef David Friel has led the team since day one.

The prime steaks are all sourced from Scottish producers, and are hung and dry-aged for tenderness and flavour, before being hand cut on the premises for each serving. Steaks are glazed and then seared on a hot charcoal grill, before being served with a selection of delectabie side dishes. Of course, the menu includes alternatives such as monkfish, chicken, venison or Mediterranean vegetables for those who aren’t so keen on beef.

Private dining rooms within the restaurant can accommodate up to 16 guests, while the rooftop suite with its open-air terrace can seat up to 40 diners for a special occasion. But whether in the main restaurant or a private area, the overall feeling is classy and upmarket, with low lighting, a tinkling piano in the background, and fellow diners enjoying the fare.

Certainly, there is a distinctive ambiance in The Grill Room that makes any meal there seem out of the ordinary-which is why this restaurant is an award winner, and one of the city’s hottest destinations.

Sundays see a special roast menu with live jazz in the background. And as a wonderful treat for Mother’s Day -or a family feast on Easter Sunday -The Grill Room is offering well-priced menus for these occasions, including three courses with coffee for £26.50 per person on Mother’s Day.
