The Scottish Seabird Centre

Address The Scottish Seabird Centre, The Harbour North Berwick, East Lothian EH39 4SS, Scotland, UK
Telephone: 01620 890202
Website: http://www.seabird.org/

The awards-winning Scottish Seabird Centre is a five star wildlife centre with stunning views over the sea and sandy beaches. Lovely Cafe with open decking, Gift shop and Discovery Centre, new Seabird Seafari Boat Trips daily. Kids’ Zone and year round events.

Among the interactive exhibits and child-oriented displays there’s a live link from the centre to cameras mounted on the volcanic island, which show close-up pictures of the birds in their nesting grounds. The cameras are mounted in different locations, depending on the movement of birds – in winter, for example, the gannets aren’t around so it’s more interesting to watch the shore birds or some peregrine falcons which have nested on Fidra Island. Weather permitting, there are also boat trips around the rock from North Berwick harbour, though only a few have landing rights on the rock.

Hours & Fee: April–Oct daily 10.00am–6.00pm; Nov–March Mon–Fri 10.00am–4.00pm, Sat & Sun 10.00am–5.30pm; till 5.00pm Mon–Fri Feb & March; £6.95
