A wide range of scented candles and other associated products are available. It is a venue for drop-in workshops allowing people to make their own candles, as well as arranged visits for private parties and corporate events.
The boutique welcomes tourists and locals alike, with the intention of using sense of smell in a way that will make each individual feel good about themselves.
Established in 2010, the Clephanton-based independent business has come a long way since it started out in Janis’s kitchen. The luxury products allowed it to find a niche, which has seen demand grow, as well as the addition of director Claire Hunter in 2012.
Raising its profile at events, markets and craft fairs, Coast Candle Co has received advice from Business Gateway and other sources. It will continue to hold it’s ‘Coast by Invitation’ candle parties, where products are taken to a customer’s home with the aim of attracting sales, while making a good impression. Being shortlisted for the Most Enterprising Business accolade at the Highland Business Women’s Club Awards is an honour for both Janis and Claire.
