The award-winning Macdonald Spey Valley Championship Golf Course has found a way to make your sporting experience whole in one; it is in the process of completing a GBP 1 million clubhouse with a location well above par.
With stunning panoramic views of the Cairngorms and surrounding woodlands the new luxury clubhouse is built.
The golf club, established in 2006, is part of the Macdonald Aviemore Resort which includes a host of bars, restaurants, and luxury brand shopping together with entertainment and relaxation facilities such as a 3D cinema, lagoon swimming pool, gym, spa and fantastic kids’ soft play area.
The new clubhouse includes a restaurant and bar, state-of-the-art locker and changing facilities, and the perfect venue for socialising.
The resort will also continue to provide marquee facilities for larger tournaments. Three years ago the Macdonald Spey Valley Championship Golf Course was awarded the title of most picturesque course in the UK after being pitched against several hundred others.
The condition and quality of the course is often a hot topic, It is meticulously maintained by head green keeper Alec Glachan and his team. The course was designed by Dave Thomas Limited, and the company describes it as the jewel in its crown. Set in the middle of the Cairngorms National Park at 800ft above sea level, and woven around the River Spey, it is a breathtaking experience for all to enjoy.
The new clubhouse, which can seat up to 40 people, also creates jobs in the local area. The club manager anticipates there will be at least two or three new golf-related positions, as well as hospitality staff and cleaning and administrative posts. The course currently has 125 members and it is hoped that numbers will be further boosted by the wonderful new facility.
