Since launching, Inverness-based Ionic Balance has enjoyed a whirlwind success, not only locally but worldwide.
The company, which specialises in “ionic” wristbands, which have been shown to provide health benefits, already boasts 15,000 wearers in Inverness alone, and a Facebook following of 27000+.
The business employs 10 staff locally who are based at a number of distribution locations in the area.
Managing director, Calum Liptrot, told Executive he was delighted with the business’ rapid growth.

The wristbands are infused with tourmaline, a semi-precious gemstone renowned for its healing properties for hundreds of years.
The tourmaline crystals produce negative ions that are absorbed by the body to aid faster recovery and healing, produce a deeper, more relaxed sleep and relieve joint pain. Arthritis sufferers are among the biggest customers.
Ionic Balance’s wristbands are among the strongest available on the market emitting 1,500 to 2,000 negative ions per cubic centimetre, per second. There is a range of 16 wristbands which are available from 11 retailers in Inverness as well as directly from Ionic Balance.
