When we returned from our walk up to the waterfalls we went up to the coffee shop and enjoyed the wonderful baking, and being the child at heart that I am, I couldn’t resist a “coke float” and a lovely slice of bake, which was perfect after our walk! The coffee shop has local art around the walls, which I am sure will be for sale if something takes your eye!
Achins Bookshop, just up the hill from the Inverkirkaig Falls, has a nice little café. Or you could head back up the road to Lochinver and the Lochinver Larder, which sells arguably the best pies in Scotland. The “banter” was good here too, very friendly.
The bookshop is open 7 days in the summer from 9:30am to 6:00pm and in the winter Mon to Sat 10:00am to 5:00pm. You will find a host of Scottish Interest, Natural History and Hill walking books, as well as many other items such as crafts, music, films, etc.
