Situated in Clan Mackay country offer comfortable en-suite rooms many with outstanding views out over the Kyle of Tongue, Ben Loyal and the ruins of Castle Varrich.

Award-winning restaurant (AA Rosette/ 2 RAC Dining Awards) enjoys the same panoramic views providing you with a feast for body and mind over the unspoiled Sutherland landscape and is the perfect place from which to explore the northern highlands.

From here you can witness the difference between the ‘flow country’ of Caithness with its sweeping landscapes and open skies and the rugged scenery with spectacular mountains and glens that typifies so much of north Sutherland.

Both the public areas of the hotel and the bedrooms are non-smoking. Many of the rooms enjoy outstanding views out over the Kyle of Tongue, Ben Loyal, Ben Hope and the ruin of Castle Varrich which sits on the hill line opposite the hotel. Weather permitting guests are welcome to smoke in the hotel garden and enjoy the wonderful view at the same time. If it is raining then there is a nothing more to be done than stand outside with an umbrella! Pets are welcome at the Ben.
