The weather broke just as I arrived – It had been a beautiful sunny day, then the clouds appeared, dark and heavy. By the time I was heading back, it was hailing, hard! But what a beautiful pier and general area! It is the Royal Commission on the Ancient and Historical Monuments of Scotland.

Achriesgill On the way to Kinlochbervie you can stop at Achiesgill for a picnic. There is a picnic bench/table and a beautiful view to complement it! A settlement on the west coast of Sutherland, Highland Council Area, Achriesgill lies at the head of Loch Inchard, 1 mile (2 km) north of Rhiconich.

Sutherland is famed for its beautiful beaches and Polin is another one. Leave your car in the car park provided and walk down through the houses, you will see a sign guiding you to the footpath to the beach. The Kinlochbervie hotel is situated near the magnificent local beaches of Oldshoremore, Polin, Sheigra and Sandwood Bay. Sand ripples on Polin beach is near Kinlochbervie, Sutherland. Polin Bay has parking and a track to the beach. There are picnic tables and parking at the harbour of Droman, and parking at Sheigra.
