Caithness has some of the best surfing breaks in the World – need we say more. World Kayak Surf Championships have been hosted in Caithness in 1991and 1997.
Surfing activities taken place all year round. All we need is the surf! When the surf is good on a Sunday or a Wednesday evening you may find yourself being introduced to this thrilling branch of the sport.
Paddlesurf (kayak surfing)
The local surf breaks are known by the World’s best kayak surfers. The area has played host to two World Championship competitions. Why travel to California when the best is here.
Sea Kayaking
Sea paddlers enjoy exploring the local coastline of Caithness & Sutherland. There are numerous caves to discover as well as seeing a wide variety of wildlife such as seals, otters and whales.
White Water Kayaking
During the Winter months the paddlers take to the local rivers. There are rapids to be conquered. Alternatively you can learn to play in them. During very wet Summers the river paddlers have been known to enjoy the warm waters too.
