Glasgow Wide Taxi Owners Ltd are a mutual co-operative of approximately 700 owners. All taxis affiliated to the society are licensed by Glasgow City Council, as are all drivers. Prior to being licensed, all drivers are police vetted and are required to pass a test of their knowledge of Glasgow City and surrounding areas. Approximately 90% of all taxis are wheelchair accessible. We accept major credit cards in payment for fares, although this facility is only available on phoned bookings. Taxi advertising is available on a fleet of some 900 cabs. Taxis are run to and from Glasgow International Airport, however pre-booking is required for pick-ups from the airport.
