Welcome! The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour is one of Glasgow’s leading visitor attractions. Glenlee is moving to a new berth beside the Riverside Museum in 2011.
The Clyde Maritime Trust (Scottish Charity No : SC004608) owns the barque Glenlee, she is the principal exhibit at The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour, an independent museum committed to the preservation and interpretation of the Glenlee and the maritime history of the area for the benefit of local people and visitors to Glasgow.
“The Tall Ship will continue to be a cultural asset for the city of Glasgow that offers both local people and visitors the opportunity to discover more about the maritime heritage of the city. This will be a dynamic experience with changing exhibitions and events and we will consistently strive to provide our visitors with a positive, value for money experience supported by excellent customer service. We will also act as an educational and training resource and encourage community involvement at all levels.”
Visit The Tall Ship at Glasgow Harbour and experience Glasgow’s maritime history at first hand. Built in 1896, the s.v. Glenlee is the only Clydebuilt sailing ship left in the UK. Exhibitions on board tell the fascinating story of this ship, which has sailed around the world 4 times, and what life was like for the sailors on board. On the quayside and in the Pumphouse Visitor Centre you can discover more about the history of the Clyde and the Glasgow Harbour area. Children can have fun hunting for Jock, the ship’s cat, and claim their prize when they find him! An unmissable experience, The Tall Ship offers changing exhibitions, guided tours, children’s activities, a nautical gift shop and cafe.
