Alistair Cassie and his Wife Margaret are the 'lifeline' of the village of Ballater in the Highlands of Scotland. They have operated their general store in Ballater for many years.

Due to the closeness of Balmoral Castle, the summer residence of H.M. Queen Elizabeth II and Birkhall the Highland retreat of H.M. Queen Elizabeth the Queen Mother Alistair has been called upon to provide his services as T.V. supplier and engineer to both Royal Households and consequently has been awarded the coveted "Royal Warrant" from each individual household that are proudly displayed in their store.

Alistair and Margaret have not only been recognised by The Royal Family but also by the residents and visitors of the village of Ballater alike.

Both of them provide a genuine Ballater welcome to everyone, be it visitor or resident. They provide everything from a nail to a painting by world famous local artist Howard Butterworth.
