The Long Partnership, chartered accountants and chartered tax advisers, has come a long way since it opened its first office in Kirkwall 13 years ago. It is now a major player serving clients throughout Scotland through a network of local offices, with its headquarters still in Kirkwall.
Owners Alan and Helen Long established the business in 2001 with just two computers, an office, but no staff.
Now it operates from five offices – located in Kirkwall, Inverness, Elgin, Dingwall and Thurso – each with a highly experienced accountant in charge. It also employs 27 staff and is involved in the training of future qualified accountants throughout the north.
