NetDatatel is fast emerging as one of the most complete technology solution providers in the Highlands and Moray.
Established in 2010 the firm’s success is attributed to its ability to offer wholesale prices, and to speed up the process of getting new and upgraded communications technology in place.

NetDatatel now employs 10 staff, five directors and two non-executive directors.

The company recently announced that Aberdeen-based IT communications and management provider, Instalec has taken a 15 per cent in the company. This will enhance NetDatatel’s channel partner growth in the north east and provide joined up synergies to both organisations.
The deal will see Instalec’s group chairman, Steven Higgins and managing director, Graeme Taylor join NetDatatel’s board as non executive directors.
Prior to the launch of NetDatatel Stewart Macdonald was contracted by HIE as a specialist technology consultant where he provided business transformation and technology expertise to a diverse client base. He says the response to NetDatatel has been reassuring: “We had a strong business focus before we created the company, and the take-up of our services has underlined that there is high demand for what we offer.

NetDatatel has entered into partnerships with TalkTalk Business, O2, Vaioni and OAK. It has the ability to find individual solutions for each customer ranging from lines and minutes, mobiles, iPECS and Cisco voice systems, Ethernet solutions and satellite communications. NetDatatel has recently opened an office in Manchester and Glasgow.
Stewart says their plans for growth are sustainable: “Our channel partner model has been designed and implemented to be a straightforward way of helping companies gain additional revenue through lead generation and partnership. Clients will be provided with a dedicated account manager who will explain products and services and introduce them to our unique marketing and sales tracking portal. Training from suppliers can be provided at no additional cost. Partners are provided with a vast range of specialist support that includes training, ordering, provisioning, downloadable sales support material, network status, highly qualified engineering team, checkers for broadband and white label marketing materials.”

Last year when the Scottish Golf Open Championship was held at Castle Stuart (near Inverness) one of the biggest considerations was upgrading to a communications network that could withstand a high level of usage. NetDatatel was commissioned by the sponsor, Barclays bank, to provide a robust and flexible solution to provide the backbone of the tournament’s infrastructure. This included fast Ethernet access to audio visual equipment for press conferences.
