Personal service from start to finish

In 2009 architect Kenny Cameron started his own practice specialising in projects up to the value of approximately £750,000 for domestic clients, community based organisations, clubs and churches. Avery experienced architect working locally since 1995, Kenny can offer a dedicated and economic professional service that sees his clients having his full attention right through from determining the feasibility of a project on to the project site administration and completion.

For Kenny architecture is all about sustainability for all aspects of a client’s requirements. The last project completed before setting up on his own was for Servite Housing Association developing 32 new flats and houses for elderly people at West Heather Road, just opposite the new Asda on the Inverness southern distributor. For this project an Eco Homes BREAAM “Excellent” rating was achieved and the project also won the Scottish Homes 2010 “small affordable housing development of the year” award.

Kenny has also recently completed some work for the National Trust for Scotland where he took a particular interest in the repair and restoration of pre-war buildings and has been able to use this knowledge in refurbishing older buildings for clients who see re-using structures as being the essence of sustainability in construction.

Kenny has put this valuable experience and knowledge to good use on more recent projects that include the refurbishment of Kiltarlity Free Church and the recently completed extension and alterations to Boat of Garten Golf Club (pictured). Kenny is currently working on anew extension for Inverness Golf Club amongst many other smaller domestic projects at various stages.

He said: “The good thing about working on my own for small to medium-sized projects is the opportunity to really get to know the client and spend some time discovering exactly what they need in order to solve their particular design requirements.”
