Training to meet the needs of today’s employers
From the food and hospitality sectors to retail, and oil and gas, Aberdeen-based training provider DM Training delivers a diverse range of courses to meet the needs of today’s employers whether those needs are performance or legislative related.
One example is food hygiene and safety.
All food businesses are required to implement a Food Safety Management System based on HACCP Principles and the REHIS (Royal Environmental Health Institute of Scotland) Intermediate HACCP Practices course is aimed at managers, supervisors, auditors and anyone responsible for the implementation and maintenance of the Food Safety System.
The two-day course is available throughout the year in various locations including Shetland (through partner Train Shetland) and Aberdeenshire, or it can be delivered in-house at the employer’s own premises.
Although the core REHIS syllabus is followed, the course is adapted to suit the individual requirements of the particular food business.
DM Training also provides a wide range of management courses including vocational Qualifications (vQs) and convenient, cost effective bite size training workshops.
New in this year is the two-day Introduction to Management course, which is aimed at equipping frontline managers with the necessary, basic skills for their role.
VQs in Management are available at Levels Three, Four and Five allowing companies and their employees to build upon their existing skills and add optional units to specialise in particular areas including human resources and finance.
Director Donna Maver explained that despite the current economic climate, businesses are still finding ways to invest in training.
“The management workshops, for example, condense courses into something meaningful that can be applied in the workplace straight away, and it means employees do not a lose a full day to training.
“Companies are seeing the benefits of investing in their staff and we’re finding that the ones that do, are stronger for it.”
