Frankie’s Fish &Chips in Brae, Shetland, is the most northerly fish and chip shop in the UK and incorporates a busy takeaway ,24seat café and outside seating, with views overlooking Busta Voe. This popular eatery attracts locals, tourists and passing trade. All seafood served at Frankie’s is sustainable and sourced locally ,with daily seafood specials caught in Shetland waters always on the menu.
Frankie’s have been in the top five fish and chip shops in Scotland in the National Fish &Chip Awards competition for the past two years.
This award-winning shop has also collected various national awards over the past year .It has achieved accreditation from the Marine Stewardship Council for serving locally grown and processed mussels and king scallops. The Sustainable Restaurant Association has awarded Frankie’s with a two-star sustainability rating for efforts in this field. A‘4Blue Fish’ rating is held by Frankie’s from Fish2Fork, awarding eateries who source sustainable seafood, and an Eat Safe Award, which promotes excellence in food hygiene is also held by Frankie’s.
Frankie’s management are passionate about staff training and development and are winners of the National Fish &Chip Awards staff training and development award 2013. Frankie’s were presented with an “outstanding commitment to excellence in the seafood industry ”award this year from Seafood Scotland.
