The British Show Pony Society (BSPS) is also a family orientated national society which aims to improve the showing of the Children’s Riding Pony by promoting classes and competitions for Children’s Show Ponies, Show Hunter Ponies and Working Hunter Ponies. In addition the BSPS now includes classes for Mountain & Moorland ponies, Intermediates, Part Bred Arabs and Coloured Horses and Ponies.
BSPS Scotland provides children with the opportunities to compete at local shows throughout Scotland as well as represent their Country at National Level. In Scotland they have own branch and organise shows, training days and social events. They also run an annual summer points competition whereby members can gain points by competing throughout the season at affiliated shows. Trophies and Rosettes for this competition are presented at the Dinner Dance held in November each year.
