Tarbat golf club makes visitors welcome. You are asked to pay at the office before starting. Course rangers are out and about to help if required. Competition days are Wednesdays for the ladies and Saturdays for the gents. Playing is from yellow tees. As you can gain birdies and pars (after a struggle), and then face the sterner tests of Royal Dornoch, Tain, Brora and Glospie with optimism. On the course there is a practice putting green in front of the club house and a short practice area between the second and fifth holes.

Tarbat Golf Club was founded 100 years ago in 1909 and sits in the beautiful little seaside resort of Pormahomack in a lovely East Coast Village facing West with a superb views of the Hills over Sutherland. Only 10 minutes from the main A9 near Tain in Ross-Shire it is the only nine hole links course in the area. It is a nine hole links that is 5298 yards long. Par 68. SSS 65. Tight undulating fairways and small greens. Stunning views over the Dornoch and Moray firth. A great test of golf so don’t let the length fool you, come and enjoy.
