The Tongue and District Angling Club offers visitors and locals some of the most outstanding sport fishing in the Highlands.
Not only has the club access to wonderful wild brown trout fishing in famous waters such as Loch Loyal and Loch Craggie, but the club also has excellent sea-trout fishing in the shallow, clear waters of the Kyle of Tongue.
The Angling Club is responsible for issuing the permits for fishing in the area and at £5.00 per day is amongst the cheapest in the country. Permits can be purchased at the hotel reception. The Angling Club also has boats on Lochs Loyal, Craggie and Hakel and along with a selection of outboard motors can be hired by the day or week.
Your angling dreams come true fishing Tongue and District Angling Club waters. Something for everyone, beginner and expert alike. Excellent stocks of wild brown trout, exciting sea-trout fishing in the Kyle of Tongue. The hotel has leased fishing rights on the South End of Loch Hope. We have one boat and fishing for up to two rods is available. Please contact the hotel for this year’s rate. There are three beats on South End and beats are rotated on a daily basis. You will be advised at the time of booking which beat you will be fishing. A ghillie is advisable but not essential.
As aquaculture continues to devastate the wild sea- trout stocks throughout the West Highlands and Islands, the Kyle of Tongue provides haven and sanctuary for these splendid fighting fish. Permisson to fish is available at a modest cost, and most of the trout lochs have excellent boats. Outboard engines are also provided and ghillie services may be booked by prior arrangement.
