Steady growth ensures firm’s long-term success
ERG was founded in 1974 by David Joy as Easter Ross Glass, from a small workshop in Ross-shire.
Over the years, the company has grown the geographical spread of its customer base to include Sutherland, Caithness and Orkney also Lochaber and Moray.
The company has grown steadily and now has facilities in both Invergordon and Inverness, while employing between 50 and 60 personnel and regularly contributing over £3 million to the Highland economy.
ERG’s customer database is over 12,000 homes and over the years many customers have returned for more products and upgrades, happy still to be part of the ERG story.
David’s son, Ian, started working with the company 28 years ago as a trainee fitter and progressed through management to his current position as managing director and majority shareholder.
ERG provides a full range of UPVC windows, doors and conservatories alongside ranges of wood and aluclad products. Specialist glass and architectural glass are also in the range and last year ERG created its premier range of conservatories, orangeries and outside buildings.
Clients are served by ERG’s own building squads and planning applications are all taken care of by the company’s own surveyors.
Said Ian: “We at ERG are proud that our clients return to us and also are pleased to recommend us to new customers, a testimony to our standards of customer care and service, which has been a corner stone of the company since day one.
“Despite the recession, we are confident the future is strong for the company and we are actively looking for expansion through both organic and inquisitional strategies to take the ERG brand into other areas and also will add new products to our range on an ongoing basis.”As you visit ‘ERG Windows & Conservatories Ltd’, you may find interest in following listings . . .
