This is available from Borlum Farm, normally open seven days per week from 1 Oct to 30 June. Borlum Farm, which has historic links with Urquhart Castle nearby. Borlum is a working hill farm, stocking sheep which has its own BHS approved riding centre. You can take your own pony on holiday too!
This family run business offers quality and fun instruction, trekking and trail riding at our BHS approved centre. Come for a lesson or a ride out, you will be sure of a warm Highland welcome. Every ride is graded as either suitable for novice or experienced riders. Our hill rides give magnificent views over Loch Ness and the Great Glen whereas the Loch and Duck pond rides go through flat, open country and woodlands.
400 acres, a large indoor school, two outdoor schools, on the shores of Loch Ness and only 20 minutes outside of the twin villages of Lewiston and Drumnadrochit is the Highland Riding Centre which as well as being the home of Riding for the Disabled also gives visitors the opportunity to use the excellent facilities available and take part in one of our rides.
This makes it the ideal place to take a riding holiday. We also have our own fishing boat. This is large enough to take the whole family comfortably on a fishing/picnic trip on the loch. Access can be provided for those bringing their own canoes or waterskiing boats. At other times they are closed on Sundays. To avoid disappointment it is advisable to book at least 3 to 4 days in advance during the summer. Large groups should plan even further ahead.
