Another enjoyable boat trip – but this one with a difference! On the Seaprobe which is fitted with underwater windows allowing you to watch ‘the world beneath the waves’, you can go down below and look out of the porthole type windows at the marine environment.
Explore through kelp forests equal in beauty and sheer diversity to any coral reef, and don’t miss your opportunity to see the World War II Shipwreck, HMS Port Napier, underwater (not included in the 1hr trip). Seaprobe Atlantis glass bottom boat trips will take you seal colony at Seal Island. Come in early summer and see the newborn pups, as well as all the young fledgeling sea-birds at the protected bird colonies.
There is lots to see such as jelly fish, seals, fish, marine worms and even a ship wreck to look at, and if you are lucky you will also see otters and porpoise. If you particularly want to see the shipwreck check with the skipper as it depends on the state of the tide as to whether or not they can go to the wreck. You will learn much about Skye, wild life and sea life on the trip. The trip is very popular and you are advised to book your seat by calling free on 0800 980 4846. Also check out the notice board for each day’s timetable at the pier.
