Advisers at renewable heating specialist R&I Cruden are used to helping homeowners and businesses reduce their fuel costs through the installation of energy-efficient biomass boilers.
The family-run company, based in Muir of Ord, is also assisting its customers indirectly by providing its renewable technology expertise to farmers and woodchip suppliers in the north of Scotland.
R&I Cruden recently completed a large project for Novar Estate in Evanton, which involved designing and installing a woodchip dryer.
R&I Cruden has a reputation across the Highlands and beyond for providing exceptional service, honest advice and practical solutions in all aspects of renewable heating and plumbing.
The company is a Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS) accredited installer for biomass, air and ground source heat pumps and solar thermal energy, which means its installations are eligible for the UK Government’s Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) that provides payments to householders and businesses who install renewable energy heating systems.
The green aspect of biomass is becoming extremely popular in the growing eco-tourism market.
For example, R&I Cruden recently installed biomass boilers into each of the eight luxury log cabins at the Eagle Brae complex in Beauly, which offers completely carbon neutral holiday accommodation.
But R&I Cruden can do more than individual boiler installations. In fact, the company has just started work on a district heating system at Mountgerald Highland Farm Cottages near Dingwall, which will see 10 self-catering properties connected to one central boiler.
R&I Cruden was set up in 2005 by Ian Cruden, who ran the heating and plumbing business from the family home in Kiltarlity.
Ian’s eldest son Rory joined the company in 2008. Since then, Ian’s youngest son Callum and his wife Isla have been taken on to help meet the demand for renewable energy solutions.
In anticipation of a growing market, R&I Cruden set up premises in Muir of Ord – complete with working showroom that demonstrates how biomass boilers work.
The company has continued to thrive as more and more people embrace the energy efficiency and cost benefits of renewable heating.
The workforce at R&I Cruden has also grown with two full-time members of staff joining the family team.As you visit ‘R&I Cruden’, you may find interest in following listings . . .
