Balnagown Estates have three estates: Balnagown itself, the historical seat of the Clan Ross, Inveroykel with salmon fishing on the River Oykel and Duchally, the breathtaking Highland wilderness in Sutherland.

The ancient buildings surround the cottage and the perfectly maintained gardens and grounds are impeccable and beautiful. Duchally Lodge

The River Cassley – well known for its salmon fishing – runs directly past the Lodge, whilst a trout pool immediately outside allows youngsters to try their first hands at fishing. The fresh air, adventure and liberating atmosphere are all guaranteed to exhaust children of all ages after a day’s exploration of the bounteous valley below. If you are a lover of all things outdoors then Duchally Lodge, one of Scotland’s more remote and fascinating gems, is for you. Invercassley with salmon fishing on the River Oykel and Duchally, the breathtaking Highland wilderness in Sutherland.

The Duchally Estate comprises Duchally Lodge is also a superb location for wildlife spotting, trout and salmon fishing and country pursuits. Duchally borders the River Cassley, a picturesque spate river that winds its way from the source amidst 3 lochs in the head of a dramatic and rugged corrie. During the Winter months, the deer are fed, an activity enjoyed particularly by children. There is also a trout pool below the Lodge, perfect for supervised youngsters to have their first go at fishing. The Balnagown ghillies know every acre of land and water on the estate, and can share a tale or two with you whilst fishing or stalking within the most desired spots.

Fishing or Trout Angling services

The Balnagown Estates provide some of the finest angling availables anywhere in the Scottish Highlands. Between March and October, both Salmon and Sea Trout are availabe on the Lower Oykel, Upper Cassley and Balnagown Rivers, whilst the abindance of the hill lochs throughout the estates yield sufficient Brown and Rainbow Trout to satisfy the most ardent of fly fishing enthusiasts. If fly fishing is your interest, this too can be arranged off the coasts of Easter Ross and the Black Isle. Wild brown trout fishing on River Cassley and hill lochs on Invercassley and Duchally Estates. Also sea trout on Cassley. First class self catering accommodation available in Rosehall.

Sea Trout and Salmon fishing are excellent at Invercassley and Duchally Estates. The Balnagown River is also rich in Sea Trout. You can stay at Inveroykel Lodge and include a week’s fishing on the famous River Oykel which is literally, just a short distance from the Lodge. We also have stocked trout pools at Balnagown and challenging loch fishing at Invercassley and Duchally for large Brown Trout and Arctic Char.
