Durness is a popular centre for tourists exploring the north west of Sutherland. It lies at the north west corner of the mainland road network, with routes running east round Loch Eriboll to Tongue or south to Kinlochbervie and Scourie.
The Durness and Kinlochbervie Angling Club offers fly only, boat angling on this famous limstone loch. The club has a boat on Loch Croispol (Croisaphuill) for the use of visitors. Sessions are from dawn until 5.30pm, Monday to Friday, for two anglers per session.
1 boat on Loch Croispol £30 per day (2 rods or £15 single rod if boat not in use) as well as £5 per day for bank fishing for Brown trout in hill lochs around Durness and on Cape Wrath. Tickets available from Durness Stone Craft ( opposite Oasis Hotel, Durness) Telephone 01971511703.
